Redeemer Baptist School staff, students, past students and two health professionals travelled to the remote village of Itokama in Papua New Guinea in July 2016. They worked with the Barai community to install four water tanks, providing more accessible water for three villages. Guttering was supplied by the Australian non-profit charity Hepatitis B Free which continues to support health care needs in Barai villages. Paramedic Garry Mikhail and medical doctor Medhat El-Wahsh worked with two past Redeemer students, Petros Savaiko and Kerry Kufuae (who have vocational qualifications in Healthcare and are currently studying Nursing at Pacific Adventist University), to provide medical clinics in Barai villages throughout the week. The Redeemer team also contributed in Itokama Primary School, ran an inservice for teachers from four Barai schools, and were given the opportunity to speak at Barai churches. During this mission week many people worked together to achieve much more than anyone could have imagined.

Redeemer Baptist School (CRICOS NO. 00415 K) caters for a diversity of skills, abilities and backgrounds. It has a distinctive Christian worldview and is renowned for its academic standards. The School has a Preparatory School (Pre-Kindergarten to Year 4), a Middle School (Years 5–8) and a Senior School (Years 9–12).

Established in 1981, Redeemer Baptist School is coeducational. The main campus is located on 9 hectares of parklands in North Parramatta, about 30kms from the centre of Sydney. Its elevated position offers excellent views to the city and there is easy access to public transport. The School is noted for its magnificent historic buildings together with the hi-tech Science and Technology Centre and the impressive N. F. Cannon Library.

Redeemer Baptist School's teaching excellence was highlighted in the Federal Government Education Minister's Review Committee Report 2003, which described the school's learning environment as 'thoughtful, free, sharing and respectful'. In 2014, the NSW Legislative Assembly Hansard reported on ‘the strong culture of original scientific research at Redeemer Baptist School’. The conclusion of the Hansard record states that ‘it is little wonder that Redeemer Baptist School is held in such high esteem by the whole community and has developed a reputation to deliver a holistic approach to education for our young people'.

"We trust that these years in Redeemer help to prepare our students to become good Australian citizens and, indeed, redeemed citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven."
