In July 2017, Redeemer students worked alongside staff and volunteer licensed builders during a week in the school holidays on the ‘Oasis Community Centre’ in the town of Boggabilla.
The Year 10 students constructed four tables that were given to the Centre as a gift.
Much time was spent with the churches in the area and a wall painting was completed by the students and presented to the Goondiwindi Presbyterian Church and the Assemblies of God church also located in Goondiwindi. Redeemer Baptist School was extremely thankful for the accommodation these churches provided the staff and students to support the mission in their neighbouring town of Boggabilla.
A WEEK FULL OF JOY
The week allowed all present to enjoy fellowship together and experience the joy of Christ in the work that was completed on the site.
July 2019 Project
In July 2019, Year 10 Redeemer students once again worked on the ‘Oasis Ministries Centre’ in the town of Boggabilla for a week as part of our Gala Day program.
The week included painting, paving, laying vinyl flooring, carpeting and landscaping. Year 11 Construction students also worked alongside staff and volunteer licensed builders for a week gaining invaluable skills.
During the week in Boggabilla, the students were given a farm experience where they watched a sheering session and saw how farmers struggled to make their farms productive during the current drought.
The staff and students developed relationships with local churches including Goondiwindi Presbyterian and Assemblies of God churches, and also the Oasis Family & Community Church. On Sunday at the Oasis Centre, many locals joined to thank God for the fulfilment of His promise and asked for His blessing on the Centre in the years to come.
A Centre Complete
The Centre was completed in the week that the students were at Boggabilla.
