2008 - The Church in Muli Muli Needed Renovating

Rev Fred Nile MLC advised Redeemer that the Indigenous community in Muli Muli had particular needs that could be met with the School's annual Gala Day fundraiser. Their church building was built about 30 years before from discarded timbers. The congregation had to bring their umbrellas to church when it rained because the roof leaked so badly.

Pastor Lola Bundock and her son, David, came to the school to meet students and participate in the Gala Day fundraiser.

The renovations of the church had an estimated cost of $100 000. The students successfully managed to raise $10 000. The staff at the school then approached a number of industries and were overwhelmed by the support. Donations came flooding in estimated at approximately $50 000 in material and in kind.

The culmination of the children's activities was a mural of the feet of all those who had been involved in the week, from the youngest 3 year old to the oldest builder. The mural bore testimony that people of all cultures can come together in Christ to work and live in harmony.

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.  (Romans 12:1, MSG)
